Alysha Suley, MM, MT-BC graduated from Berklee College of Music with a Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy and a minor in Psychology, and Colorado State University with a Master’s in Music Therapy with a focus on neurologic rehabilitation.
Board certified by the Certification Board for Music Therapists (www.CBMT.org) since 2012, Alysha is also a member of the American Music Therapy Association (www.MusicTherapy.org), and the International Association for Music & Medicine (www.IAMMonline.com).
Alysha completed her clinical internship at UPMC, where she gained experience at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh, the Western Psychiatric Institute & Clinic, intensive outpatient and dual diagnosis recovery groups, and palliative care in a medical setting.
Alysha worked in inpatient psychiatric settings for five years, where she was privileged to participate in interdisciplinary treatment team meetings on a regular basis. Alysha developed a 10-week music therapy protocol to support individuals in healing from traumatic experiences as part of the Center for Mind and Body Connection at Danville State Hospital.
Learning and personal development play a central role in Alysha’s philosophy of practice, and she pursues continuing education at every opportunity.
